We are seeking to raise cattle in a way that is
healthy for the livestock, wildlife and land, as well for those who
eat the beef from our operation. We allow the cattle to graze
the grasses and forbs that they evolved with, rather than feed on
grains that are foreign to their digestive system. We provide
fresh groundwater and spring flows with year-round access for the
cattle. We avoid the chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and
parasiticides that might harm the land or cattle. We have fenced
off our riparian zones around Williams Creek and Cedar Branch in
order to protect the cover, wildlife and fresh water there. We
are careful to avoid over-stocking the land, and to use rotational
grazing systems that give cattle access to clean pastures to graze,
and that allow vegetation to protect their root systems, regrow stems
and blades, and go to seed successfully. Most important, we
are always trying to listen, watch and learn how to improve our operation.
