We raise beef cattle from Angus/Brahma cow-calf and stocker herds
on tracts in Colorado and Fayette Counties.
We recognize that we are managing land, and raising grass, as
much as we are raising cattle, and take our duty seriously to be
careful stewards of the land. The cattle graze under an
intensive rotation schedule among networks of 13 to 23 pastures.
This regime allows native grasses and forbs to recover and regrow
after the cattle leave a given pasture and move to a new cell. Texas Parks and Wildlife
has recognized
the operation in its Lone
Star Land Steward program for progressive work on land
protection and restoration. We also collaborate with our
neighbors in three wildlife management associations, the East
Navidad WMA, Harvey's Creek WMA, and Central Colorado County WMA, on
cooperative efforts to manage the habitat for whitetail deer and
other wildlife.
We hope you will try some beef from SWT Cattle, and believe
that you'll find it to be healthy, tender, and tasty. |
